Just Wow! Best Bird Photos of 2017

Is it the level of artistry, technical ability and superhuman patience of the image makers, or the wonders of nature, perfection in feathers they’ve caught on camera – which is the more awe-inspiring? I can’t decide. Either way, these pics are stunners.

  1. Those photos are phenomenal. The wonderful creatures who share the earth with us deserve to be celebrated. Thank you for posting.

The beautiful pictures arrived on a day that the skies here are grey with smoke from the forest fires, and at dawn the sun looked like a blood-red moon. A few years ago the Earth Liberation Front edited a book titled “Burning Rage of a Dying Planet.” A new major hurricane approaches in the South. Maybe the earth has had enough of us.

The photos remind us of all we could lose if it isn’t too late.
